Well, we’ve been home for a couple of days now, but I find myself with a bit of time this morning, so I figured I’d wrap things up … all we’re missing is the last day and our drive home! (Note: I may add some photos to this later, but we’re photo-free for now!)

Both were fairly uneventful. The worst of it was that the cold I’d been fighting off for just about the entire trip fully manifested that last morning (and is still lingering a bit now). I sucked down some Advil Cold & Sinus, grabbed a pack of tissues, and made the best of it.

A quick hotel breakfast, and we were on our way. We started off at Sheldrake Point Winery with a tasting, then their attached Simply Red Bistro for lunch. I had the most delicious fried chicken ever, drizzled with honey (Gina was jealous, with her veggie burger special). We also hit Penguin Bay and Hazlitt, possibly one other, but the drive was awaiting.

We pretty much did the drive home in one chunk, stopping only for gas and to change drivers. Although it meant a somewhat late dinner, we ate at local go-to place TJ’s Restaurant & Drinkery, which ended up being a nice transition to home.

So, in case anyone is curious, here are the wines we returned home with:

  • Billsboro Cabernet-Syrah
  • Billsboro Dry Riesling
  • Chateau Frank Blanc de Noirs
  • Dr. Konstantin Frank Gewürztraminer
  • Fox Run Merlot
  • Goose Watch Bartlett Pear
  • Goose Watch Villard Blanc
  • Hazlitt Schooner Red
  • Knapp Sangiovese
  • Knapp Seyval Blanc
  • Penguin Bay Cabernet
  • Penguin Bay Rosé of Chambourcin
  • Red Tail Ridge Chardonnay
  • Red Tail Ridge Pinot Noir
  • Sheldrake Point Dry Rosé
  • Sheldrake Point Gewürztraminer
  • Sheldrake Point Merlot
  • Sheldrake Point Pinot Noir
  • Swedish Hill Blue Waters Chardonnay
  • Swedish Hill Landot Noir
  • Swedish Hill Viking Red
  • Swedish Hill Viking White
  • Thirsty Owl Dry Riesling
  • Thirsty Owl Merlot
  • Vineland Estates Icewine Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Vineland Estates Pinot Meunier

I think that’s everything … and it oughtta be enough!

Overall, a whirlwind of a trip, lots of driving, lots of good times. Other than coming down with this stupid cold, I wouldn’t change a thing!
