Animal KingdomThe week was winding down, but there was another birthday left to celebrate: our friend Camara’s! The plan for the day was Animal Kingdom, with a full day of FastPass+ rides wherein we actually were interested in 2/3, lunch reservations, and a fancy dinner at Jiko in Animal Kingdom Lodge. Gina and I headed out fairly early (well, as early as we seemed to be able to on this trip), though it was an exceptionally long bus ride down to Animal Kingdom. By the time we finally got there, Camara had already been on Expedition Everest once or twice, to prepare herself for our first FastPass+… on Expedition Everest. Well hey, it’s a pretty damn good ride, right? I mean at least I’ve enjoyed it when I’ve been on it before. Unfortunately, the spill I took the day before was beginning to take its toll.

Boat to Magic KingdomWednesday was probably the only day we had with no real plans other than dining reservations. Given that our first reservation was for the Rose & Crown Pub in EPCOT—and that Gina and I had only been to that park briefly so far this visit—we decided that’d be the best place to start our day. Magic KingdomWe got back fairly late after Monday night’s EPCOT visit (transportation’s not always all that speedy), so we figured we’d take it a little easy on Tuesday (at least to start with). We had a lazy morning, slept in relatively late, then moseyed on out to Magic Kingdom (where it seems we started several of our mornings). Gina and I had reservations at the Garden View Tea Room for afternoon tea, since I was only able to procure a reservation for two. For that reason, we all figured it would be easiest for the couples to divide and conquer (or whatever) until we linked back up in the afternoon.

Greg & GlenOnce we hit Monday, we were down to a foursome, as the other two in our party unfortunately had to return to their regularly scheduled lives. I suppose it’s more accurate to say that we were down to two twosomes, but we spent the majority of our time together for the week. It worked out rather well, since we all seem to have fairly compatible senses of humor. (I mean, anyone brandishing a banana in a photo is okay in my book. Or would be, if I had a book.) For Monday, our main plan was Disney’s Hollywood Studios, to make use of some FastPass+ tickets that I had scheduled for all of us, so that’s where Gina and I headed after a quick stop in Magic Kingdom for a bit of shopping.
